1. Hi πŸ‘‹, What’s your name and your business?

My name is Atif Shahab Qureshi. I am currently a senior community manager at SaaS company TaskQue, a productivity management tool used by thousands of project managers, marketers, IT professionals for their day to day task management and team collaboration activities.

2. Can you tell us more about your background on how you started?

I started a career in Digital Marketing back in the year 2013. I got hired as a Product Engineer in the world’s second-largest B2B portal Tradekey. I learned a lot there. It was a career-boosting job for me.

After serving for about 1.5 years, I made a job switch as an SEO team lead at a local IT company. As I had already lots of achievements with respect to SEO on eCommerce websites in multiple languages and on very competitive keywords.

In the year 2016, I changed my mind to move towards a little technical job as I had already done PHP certification from a local institute Orasoft . I got hired at Cloudways, a Malta-based Managed cloud hosting platform as PHP community manager. It was a very exciting experience as it transformed my career towards community marketing, influencer marketing, content marketing, social media marketing, and branding side as well. I used to write PHP tutorials. I interviewed famous personalities from the PHP community including Zeev Suraski, Cal Evans, and many more.

I forgot to tell you about my academic background. I did a Masters in computer science and information technology from NED University of Engineering and technology after a little gap in my graduation from NED University of engineering and technology. You can read the detailed background here at my personal blog as well.

3. What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day for me is a routine day when I follow all planned tasks rather than anything new. However, I try to learn and implement new skills daily. I do a lot of activities based on strategy typically social media marketing, Podcasts, Video Marketing, Influencer Marketing, Brand Reputation management, etc.

4. What is your biggest lesson learned in SaaS?

Saas based businesses take time to deliver ROIs. So, be patient and meanwhile concentrate on the improvements which you should make every single day to your product. Initially, numbers may disappoint you, but in the long run, you will be the champion. Community management and marketing are very much important for Saas based products. So, focus from day 1 in this area. It will also contribute greatly to better rankings in search results. The biggest stakeholder in your business is your customer. So, getting engaged with your customers is extremely important. Try every possible means to build the customer’s trust.

5. Which tools are your favorite to work with?

There are a number of tools that I use for productivity and need for work. It includes Buzzsumo, Bufferapp, Ifttt, Awario, Mention, Google Alerts, Hootsuite, Ahref and Similarweb.

6. What is your favorite app on your phone?

Evernote and Keepnotes. They both are awesome. I used them as a digital notepad. Also, I like Gmail app as its a fast way to check emails and respond back via phone.
